Description

The Meridiana desk lamp, designed by Paolo Piva and produced by Stefano Cevoli, is a striking and rare example of Italian postmodern lighting. The lamp features two hemispherical domes in a tortoise-shell patterned resin connected by slim metal rods, creating a sculptural, almost figurative silhouette.

Its playful yet precise geometry showcases Piva’s architectural approach, while Cevoli’s production gives the piece its characteristic material warmth. The upper dome houses the light source, offering a soft, focused glow—perfect on a desk, shelf, or sideboard.

A collectible Italian design object with strong visual presence and personality.

Condition Report

The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The tortoise-shell resin shows light, even patina and small age-related marks, typical for this material. The metal rods and connections are stable and secure. Fully functional with an inline switch.
